Troubled Italian airline Alitalia has applied for bankruptcy protection as it tries to agree a deal to ensure its long-term survival.

The carrier has sought court protection from its creditors, effectively declaring itself insolvent.

An administrator will be appointed to handle the process, with flights continuing while the firm plans a radical overhaul of its operations. Losing 2m euros (£1.6m) a day, Alitalia has survived on a 300m-euro state loan.

    [03] Silent Denial of Charges

    29 Αυγ 2008 17:45:00

Former political leader of Serbs in Bosnia, Radovav Karatzis denied today to declare innocent or guilty in front of the International Criminal Court regarding former Yugoslav. He is being charged with crimes of war against humanity as well as with genocide in war in Bosnia that resulted in the death of 100.000 people (1992-1995).

This is the Courts second adduction asking from Karatzis to declare innocent or not while the first adduction took place in July when the accused preferred to use the 30 days law provides him in order to decide whether he accepts charges and he pleaded innocent of all charges.
