ND Arcadia deputy, Petros Tatoulis insists on his solitary road within the party while statements in his website reconfirmed information that the gap between himself and the ruling party is getting bigger. In an article on his website, Petros Tatoulis targeted attacks against Ministers of State, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Merchant Marine and secondly against the Prime-minister. He called Minister of State, Thodoros Roussopoulos, whose wife works as a journalist in a television channel, to resign while Foreign Minister, Dora Bakoyianni did not escape criticism on the grounds of her statement that the government will not become hostage of anyone. Petros Tatoulis recent criticism has given rise to strong reactions within the ND party while senior members have even got to the point to request his resignation. "When what is being done is against someones conscience, he should bravely say good bye and leave", said ND party Kavala deputy, George Kalatzis in an interview with NET 105.8. Neither alternate government spokesman nor ND party senior members made any comments in response to Petros Tatoulis attacks saying that this is the probably the 9 the time that he expresses his views criticizing ministers.

Two armed burglars, a Rumanian and a German, had ransacked over 100 summer houses in Attika, stealing jewelry, credit cards, H/Y, electronic devices and televisions, which they later sold at coffee shops in Omonoia. After being arrested, the two foreign nationals admitted that they had broken into over 100 houses at night first making sure that the owners were either away or sleeping. They sold golden jewellery for 60 euros per 10gm. They also installed wireless micro-cameras at ATMs to record credit cards PIN numbers to later use them to withdraw cash with fake cards they had made. Prior to his arrival in Greece, the German national, charged with murder, had served a 16 year-sentence in a German prison while the Rumanian national was sentenced to 8 year imprisonment on theft charges.

The National Foreign Policy Council, chaired by Foreign Minister, Dora Bakoyianni convened at 11:00 this morning. Following the meeting, Mrs. Bakoyianni said that talks centered on the crisis in Caucasus, the Skopje and Cyprus issues. She underlined that the most significant message is the unanimous support to Cyprus President new efforts for the resolution of the Cyprus issue. A second meeting between Cyprus President, Dimitris Hristofias and Turkish-Cypriot representative, Mehmet Ali Talat will take place on September, 11. During their talks in Nicosia yesterday they expressed hope to reach an agreement on resolution of the Cyprus issue. Mrs. Bakoyianni will have a meeting in Athens with her Cypriot counterpart, Marko Cyprianou. It should also be mentioned that talks within the new round of negotiations on FYROM name issue will resume in NY, on September, 11,

In the meantime, Greece is intends to lodge a demarche following Ankaras refusal to admit that a Turkish coast guard ship violated Greek territorial waters on Thursday.

The governmental part gathers 28,3%, PASOK 25,9%, KKE 7%, SYRIZA 10,8%, LAOS 4,6% and Ecologists 2,5%.

58,5% of people asked think that the country is coming out of the crisis, while 6/10 estimate that within the following year the situation in economy will get worse.

As per Euro elections, taking place next June, New Democracy gathers 25,8%, PASOK 22%, KKE 7,5%, SYRIZA 12,9%, LAOS 4,6% and Ecologists 2,5%.

[05] Gazprom-Nigeria Agreement

Gazprom and the public company of oil in Nigeria will sign an agreement for the exploitation of oil and natural gas. Nigeria is the biggest oil exporter in Africa, but armed groups taking action in Delta, with a series of attacks, kidnaps and sabotages take advantage of the majority of profits resulting in the reduction of the production. According to OPEC, Angola is the biggest oil exporter in the Black Continent.

[07] Hanna Swept Haiti

61 people at least died by floods and landslides caused by typhoon Hanna in Haiti. Death toll is expected to rise as water now withdraws and rescuers are able to reach remote areas. The situation is devastating the president of the country said Rene Preval plans to have emergency talks with representatives of countries, making appeals for help. Hanna is expected to be reinforced again and may hit Bahamas today, South Carolina and Virginia on Saturday. Haiti has been already hit by Gustav. Two days after the floods many residents remain on the roofs of their residencies while the government does have any information about patients in hospitals and prisoners. "There are many people in the roofs and there are many prisoners that can not be guarded", Preval added.

[08] National Council of Foreign Policy Convenes

Development on Balkans Skopje, the Cypriot issue and Caucasus will be at the focus of the National Council of foreign Policy which will convene at 11.00 under the minister of foreign affairs Mrs. Dora Bakoyiannis.

The second meeting of the Cypriot president Mr. Dimitris Christofias and the Turkish-Cypriot leader Mehmet Ali Talat who expressed the hope after their meetings yesterday they will reach an agreement for a solution to the Cypriot issue, will start at 11/9. Next week, Mrs. Bakoyiannis will meet in Athens with her Cypriot counterpart Markos Kyprianos.

At the same time, Athens will proceed to a representation to the Turkish side regarding the video showing a Turkish navy warship leaving illegal emigrants to Greek coasts.

It must be noted that on September 11, Mathew Nimetz will repeat fresh negotiations with representatives of Athens-FYROM on the name issue.
