During his speech at the 6th congress of SYN party Youth Central Council, Alexis Tsipras exercised criticism against both large political parties ND and PASOK. SYN party president spoke of the need for the formulation of new social and political coalitions and once again categorically ruled out possibility for cooperation with PASOK. He stressed that now more than ever circumstances are ripe for a new social and political coalition which would lead to the Left solution. Referring to the global financial crisis he spoke of a conscious government decision to support big bankers while PASOK did not escape his criticism as he stressed that latish accusations of the free markets lawlessness just give rise to laugher since they are the ones who deified the stock market. Concluding, Mr. Tsipras said that the SYN partys aim is to highlight the problems of young people and turn them from the generation of indifference to the generation of reversal.

Pakistans security forces killed at least 30 militants in Swan valley on Sunday. The fighting took place as a top U.S diplomat visited Pakistan for talks on the countrys efforts to counter rising terrorism. The region is 250km northwest of the capital Islamabad, which was a popular tourist resort till 2007. "Pakistani Air Force jets bombed an Islamic militants hide out killing at least 30 fighters among them their commander, Alagmir" said military spokesman Murat Han.

The assistant to US Secretary of State Richard Baucher had talks with Pakistani president, Asif Ali Zardari regarding rising violence in the north-west part of the country and security measures along the Afghan borders.

The visit of the US high ranking official to Pakistan is taking place at a time when relations between the two countries are at low level due to recent intensification of US air-strikes against militants who have sought refuge in a tribal region bordering with Afghanistan. Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari reconfirmed his countrys commitment to fight against Al Qaeda and Taliban militants in its territory but underlined that fighters from Afghanisatn infiltrate into tribal regions to support Islamist militants, Dawn News channel reported, not naming officials.
