    Tuesday, 26 January 2010 16:13

Farmers mobilizations have brought transport in national and provincial roads into deadlock while bad weather conditions have intensified the huge problems. Larissa farmers, who closed all roads and side roads from 11:00-15:00 on Tuesday, insist on mobilizations. Stock breeders from the same area joined the blockade to make demands concerning their field. Nikaia farmers remain in their blocks but an effort to coordinate farmers in 12 blocks is in progress. They are expected to ask to meet with competent minister after the conclusion of the social dialogue at Zappeio.

Serres farmers opened the border railway crossing due to harsh cold but closed the road border crossing. Thessaloniki farmers keep blocking Foinika junction while 6 tractors drove to the center of the city and handed resolution to Interior undersecretary Thodora Tzakris.

Ioannina -Preveza road is blocked till 22:00 on Tuesday while Ahaia farmers have closed Patra- Pyrgos new highway. A group of farmers marched to Tripolis central square and handed a resolution to Fotis Hatzimihalis, secretary of Peloponnese Office.
