    GSEE congress, which opened on Thursday, in Halkidiki, is expected to center on financial crisis and government measures concerning salary cuts and reforms in taxation and social security system. GSEE congress is being held in a period when unemployment rate is sky rocketing according to data released by Employment Minister, A. Loberdos. High interest has been placed on ND leader A. Samaras speech at 10.30 and Prime-minister G. Papandreou at 14:00. The congress will decided GSEE actions and claims in the coming period and the new members of its administration board.

    Mobilizations

    POEDHN (Panhellenic Federation of State Hospital Employees) has called on state hospitals local unions to exercise right of retention of their employment as of Monday despite Health Minister M. Xenoyiannakopoulou pledges for immediate payment of December overtime work and exemption of their salaries from 10% cuts.

    GENOP-DEH representatives are having a crucial meeting with Ministers for Employment and Finance on Friday. They have warned of 48-hour rolling strikes as of next Wednesday if talks did not bear fruit.

    Administration boards of Technical and Geoponic Universities are abstaining from educational activities from 11:00- 15:00, on Friday in protest against refusal for recognition as "master" the degrees conferred for 5-year studies. Technical and Geotechnical Chambers are also participating in the mobilization.
