  • [01] D. Bakoyiannis Creates "Forum for Greece"

    Monday, 12 July 2010 14:54

Independent deputy Dora Bakoyiannis on Monday presented the political platform of a political activism movement under the title "Forum for Greece" in her personal webpage. She strongly criticized ND and PASOK parties but also exercised self-criticism. Mrs. Bakoyiannis underlined that the Forum is not a political party but a composition force for Greece of tomorrow. She invited all productive and social forces of the country to join in. She is meeting with the first 50 executives of the Forum at the Zappeion Mansion.

"Forum for Greece" -Criticized ND & PASOK

Dora Bakoyiannis announced in her personal webpage the creation of a forum for Greece, a movement of positive political activism and invited all active citizens to participate.

In the beginning of her message Dora Bakoyiannis says "I communicate with you on the Internet today because I want us to inaugurate a new relation that is interactive, unconventional without mediators, a free relation". She strongly criticized PASOK and ND parties, however, admitting that the rescue mechanism implies obligations "to save Greece from bankruptcy".

"The government, that bears the main responsibility, is trapped in interior party contradictions. PASOK is unable to proceed rapidly to the necessary reforms. The majority of its ministers swing between ineffectiveness and denial of reality. The state mechanism is semi-paralyzed without direction. But the biggest mistake of the government and PASOK is that it is destroying the unity of the country now that we need it more than ever.

On the other hand, the New Democracy, instead of exercising pressure on the government to move faster and more decisively and radically, invests with an unprecedented opportunism in the collapse of the country to gain partisan interests from the destruction. Instead of exercising substantial self-criticism and function as serious opposition with responsible proposals resorts to populism, the logic of the ripe fruit and senseless slogans. It is repeating all those tactics that led the political system to its present demerit", stressed Mrs. Bakoyiannis. Referring to Leftist parties she said they have no sense of reality and their responsibilities.

Exercising self-criticism she said: "I personally have the courage to recognize my mistakes . I will not say that all others but myself are responsible. Neither will I use expressions such as "I had spoken about these things". It was my mistake I did not speak on time about things I believed were wrong. I bear all my share of responsibility".

The "Forum for Greece" is not a political party but ideas, solutions, knowledge, force and composition for Greece of tomorrow.
