  • [01] N17 "CLEANED OUT" UNNECESSARY MEMBERS

    Athens, 25 July 2002 (14:45 UTC+2)

The counter-terrorism service expects to arrest the grandparents of November 17 very soon, since, according to the Vima newspaper, it holds a full image of the organization's composition during the 1975-1983 period.

According to the same appreciation, 5 individuals were involved in the organization during that period, while it is appreciated that Alekos Giotopoulos and Pavlos Serifis or Nikitas, participated in the killing of CIA Station Chief Richard Wells, while there is information about a woman implicated, as well as Christos Kassimis, who was killed in a police shooting in 1977 at the Redi AEG.

The counter-terrorism service is looking into the circumstances under which three individuals died, since a cleaning out of the organization in the 90's is not out of the question.

These are, the death of Kanellos Zabouflos, former roommate of Christodoulos Xeros, who died of a pulmonary edema at the age of 33, Giannis Skandalis or the Count, who was killed in a car accident in Peloponnisos, and OjurkYavouz or the Mission, who died of a heart attack.

[02] TIMES: SAUNDERS KILLING A MISTAKE

    London, 25 July 2002 (12:43 UTC+2)

A lack of information in November 17 was ascertained by the London Times. In a publication, they mentioned that the murder of Brigadier Steven Saunders was a mistake, and that the organization was targeting a US officer with the same last name as the British Brigadier.

Specifically, the Times publication mentioned that the target was a US officer involved in planning the 1999 NATO operations in Yugoslavia, and stressed that the British Foreign Office had pointed out, after the Saunders killing, in relation to the organization's declaration, that the Brigadier had nothing to do with the bombings in Yugoslavia.

[03] PELLA IS...THE CAPITAL OF FYROM, ACCORDING TO CNN

    Thessaloniki, 25 July 2002 (19:31 UTC+2)

In a letter to the Director of CNN, Macedonian Press Agency Board of Directors President Mr. Paraskevas Paraskevopoulos characterizes as ignorant of history and geography those responsible for CNN's Internet site and stresses that the geographic reality is fixed and does not take neither misinterpretations nor misunderstandings.
