Spokesman reminded that the UN Security Council has revealed its attitude on the Cyprus question with the resolution numbered 1179 that was adopted in June 29, 1998.
The UN Security Council has foreseen in the mentioned resolution, ''to solve the Cyprus question in accordance with the principle of only one sovereignty and international individuality, only one citizenship, independence, territorial integrity and existence of two equal communities on the island.''

At the same time the acceptance will also improve balanced relations between Turkish Cypriot side and Turkey and between Greek Cypriot side and Greece.''
Ecevit emphasized that the confederation proposal of Denktas opens the way for the TRNC to become member of the European Union along with the Greek Cypriot Administration.
He added that Turkey will take all necessary measures against Russia's attempt towards including the Eastern Mediterranean into her regions of population with placing Russian soldiers at the Greek Cypriot side along with the missiles.
