Athens International Airport Capacity

The new Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos" will:

serve up to 16 million passengers per year in the first stage

have a parallel runway system allowing simultaneous take offs and landings

allow for a maximum traffic of 65 movements per hour or about 600 per day

contain 89 aircraft stands

possess 24 passenger loading bridges

have a highly reliable baggage conveying system with 15 baggage claim belts

The new Athens International Airport has the facilities to ensure the continuous flow of millions of passengers as well as the day to day business:

The Main Terminal Building with 14 passenger loading bridges

A Satellite Terminal with 10 passenger loading bridges

A six-lane access road

Space for future double-track rail connection

Cargo, in-flight catering, airmail and forwarders building

Airline, handling and maintenance facilities
