  • [01] MACEDONIAN PREMIER REPEATS HIS STAND THAT TETOVA UNIVERSITY IS AGAINST CONSTITUTION AND ILLEGAL

TIRANA, FEB 8 (ATA) Macedonian Premier Cervenkovski supported his approach against the legalization of the Tetova University on the necessity of the greater integration of the state.

Meanwhile, in the Friday's news conference in Tetova University, its rector Fadil Sulejmani considered a necessity the legalization of the Tetova University. Asked by the BBC correspondent on how does he comment the last pronouncement of the Macedonian Premier, Mr. Sulejmani answered: "The constitution allowed the use of native language even in university education, with the approval of the law applied for the Pedagogic Faculty, that is, it was surpassed what the constitution prohibited. We should consider the reality that the Albanians need 6000 teacher until the years 2000, not to speak about the other staff of different profiles. Will this be to the interest of someone in Macedonia that such a great number of Albanian pupils remain tomorrow without education?" In the news conference, the deputy rector Avni Lika reported that this university is accepted recently in Tirana in the conference of rectors of the Albanian universities.

"In this way, the Tetova University has the possibility through this conference to become member even in other conferences of the European universities.

Actually in the Tetova University, in the third anniversary of its work, 11 faculties with 26 departments and 200 pedagogues operate, while 2500 students attend studies". /sk/kled/mt/k

[02] PRESIDENT OF KOSOVA DEMANDS SERIOUSNESS FROM BELGRADE FOR MEDIATE TALKS WITH ALBANIANS FOR KOSOVA

PRISHTINE, FEB 8 (ATA) - The President of the Republic of Kosova, Dr Ibrahim Rugova, in yesterday's news conference in Prishtine, appealed to the Serbian party "to show seriousness for the talks on Kosova with the Albanian party." He voiced the idea that the Prishtine-Belgrade talks must be held with the mediation of a third international party, as monitor and guarantee.

With regard to an invitation for dialogue that the President of rump Yugoslavia, Zoran Lilic, made to the Albanians yesterday by the Serbian military command in Prishtine, Rugova described it "as demagogic and made at a time when Serbian regime is carrying out a great campaign of violence against the Albanians in Kosova, social political activists, students, etc."

President Rugova denounced the violence and asked its immediate interruption. "The Serbian regime is showing recently aggressiveness even towards the natural assets of Kosova.

"Kosova will not be a colony of Serbia and other former Yugoslav regions," said Dr Rugova.

President Rugova hailed and highlighted international commitment to the solution of the question of Kosova. bj/pta/kled/xh/sh/

It calls on the people not to follow blindly those forces which for political aims and according to an anti-national scenario aim at creating the country and all the Albanians a drama several times greater than the losses in pyramid schemes.

The calls also mentions the fact that these forces have been previously financed with the money stolen by the terrorists of the organization "Albanian Justice Revenge," an organization uncovered in the recent months and which had relations with various defunct Sigurimi segments.
