[03] Mother-country supports Kosova people, says PM

TIRANA, March 6 (ATA) - On behalf of the Albanian people and government, I express my condolences to all the families who have suffered and I guarantee them for the indisputable support of the mother-country, Albania's PM Fatos Nano declared Friday in the speech held in the government meeting regarding the Kosova problem.

"The regime of Belgrade should finally understand that the terror on the Kosova people does not serve not only to the regional peace and beyond, but also to the Serbian people itself, which, although it was on the side of aggressors, has suffered and still suffers, the same as the victims of Bosnia and now of Kosova," said Nano.

"The Albanian government will continue its diplomatic and political efforts close to western democratic governments, which more than never have understood that the negligence and classification of the Albanian cause at the end of the pan-Balkan issues, have created today a difficult reality, which will demand more energy, time and exertion to be resolved."

Nano stressed in his speech that "Both the Albanian government and the administration of Clinton demand sudden interruption of armed operations, urging the establishment of a special commission for the verification of victims." He stressed that "USA will categorically intervene not to allow in Kosova be repreated the delay of the international community which led to the massacre of Bosnia. The options to reach this are wider."

"Albania, said Nano, will continue to support all those steps of the Albanian political forces, which will help peace and guarantee of equal human rights, both for Albanians and Serbs, naturally by preventing traffics of terror and weapons which incites terror."

The Prime Minister pointed out that "The Albanian state will strongly influence on the solution and defence of the national cause only by being strong and prosperous," and according to him, the coalition government is serving this aim in continuity.

"I wish everyone to pass this moment in cold blood, which is undoubtedly historic for our common future," Premier Nano ended his speech in the government meeting. /
