[01] SUCCESSFUL TALKS WITH THE LONDON CLUBAfter two days of intense talks, the second round of negotiations between FR Yugoslavia and the London club of commercial banks will be concluded today. As Federal Minister Vuk Ognjanovic - head of the Yugoslav delegation - told the TANJUG correspondent, in spite of the difficulties that were expected, the talks can be judged successful.During the negotiations between the Yugoslav delegation and the London club, the basic principles of the prospective agreement with the creditors of former Yugoslavia have been discussed. The agreement will also define the division of the debts of former Yugoslavia and the part attributed to Serbia and Montenegro, and trace the full return of Yugoslavia on the international financial markets. Today the next meeting will also be scheduled. (TANJUG, July 26, 1996) [02] EXPORTING FOOD, IMPORTING ENERGYSerbian Prime Minister Mirko Marjanovic received yesterday the Deputy Mayor of Moscow - Mr. Vitaly Georgich Morozov and Mr. Nikolai Yakovlevitch - General Manager of "Exim" - one of the major suppliers of the Russian capital. During the talks the possibility of introducing Yugoslav food produce on the Moscow market was discussed.Prime Minister Marjanovic stressed that investing in agricultural production to boost exports is one of the prime objectives of the development of the national economy, and added that the arrangement proposed by the Russian partners - long term sale of Yugoslav produce in exchange for oil and gas - is not only acceptable but also very favorable. (Politika, July 26, 1996) [03] THE OBJECTIVE - AN ETHNICALLY CLEANSED STATEThe Chairman of the Serbian National Party in Zagreb - Mr. Milan Djukic, stated that at the present moment the greatest threat for all Serbs in Croatia is "Franjo Tudjman's political geography", allowing the Serbs to live in Eastern Slavonija, but preventing their return to any other part of Croatia.This theory is the foundation of the policy designed to prevent the return of the Serbs - promoted by the Croatian authorities - said Djukic at the press conference held yesterday in Zagreb. "The final objective of this policy is and ethnically cleansed Croatia, one without any Serbs", Mr. Djukic remarked. (Borba, July 26, 1996) [04] CROATIAN REPLYThe mass return of Serbs to Krajina is obstructed by the Croatian Law on Amnesty and UNHCR and the international community will continue to pressurize Croatia to expand it - said the UN Belgrade Liaison Office and UNHCR representatives at a regular press conference held yesterday in Belgrade."The UNHCR Belgrade office managed to escort only 41 individuals to Croatia, and another 1,000 applications submitted by those that wish to return are being processed" - said Maruan Elcurry, spokesperson of the UNHCR Belgrade office. Ms. Susan Manuel - Spokeswoman of the UN Liaison Office in Belgrade remarked that the arrest of Zelko Saric by the Croatian authorities while he was saying good-bye to his family in the "no-man's land" at the border crossing between FRY and Croatia - is a "terrible incident". "The arrest of Saric is a hostile message sent by Croatia to the Serbs that want to return to Croatia" added Ms. Manuel. (Politika Ekspres, July 26, 1996) [05] THE EU THREATENS TO LEAVEThe European Union is prepared to interrupt its peace mission in Mostar and set July 4th as the deadline for the Croats to end their boycott of the newly elected City Council - said in Sarajevo Mr. Mike McClay - press representative of the International Mediator for Bosnia. The same official said that Croatian President Franjo Tudjman should convince his proteges - the Bosnian Croats - to end the boycott and form the joint ethnic City Council, as they have previously agreed. This is greatly the responsibility of Zagreb - Mr. McClay added. (Borba, July 26, 1996)[06] MURATOVIC ASSUMED THE OBLIGATIONMoslem Prime Hassan Muratovic vowed to take actions to stop the harassment of the Serbs that have stayed in Sarajevo, said UN spokesman Aleksandar Ivanko. Mr. Muratovic assumed this obligation during his talks with the UN Special Envoy in Bosnia Ykbal Rezah and UN Police Head - Mr. Peter Fitzgerald - said Ivanko at the press conference held in Sarajevo. (Politika Ekspres, July 26, 1996)[07] NO OBSTACLES FOR GOODSThe Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Trade and Industry of the Moslem-Croatian Federation - Mr. Ante Domazet said that after the talks in Belgrade the importance of normalizing overall relations with FR Yugoslavia has become more evident.In a statement for TANJUG news agency he stressed that in order to renew old business relations and establish new ones, a joint Chamber of Trade and Industry should be created by the end of the year. Mr. Domazet also said that the creation of the conditions for the unobstructed transit of persons, goods and capital is one of the top priorities for all sides. He also indicated the need to establish a free trade zone between FR Yugoslavia the Moslem-Croatian Federation. (Vecernje Novosti, July 26, 1996) [08] THE CROATS ARE OBSTRUCTING THE EXHUMATIONMr. Allan Roberts - spokesman of the International Police Forces (IPTF) told the reporters in Banjaluka yesterday that the Moslem and Croatian authorities are still obstructing the exhumation of the bodies of massacred Serbian soldiers and civilians buried in mass graves in the zone of Glamoc.According to the same official, the Croatians refuse to allow the exhumation to continue until nine Croatian soldiers are unearthed: they were members of the "Black Mamba" terrorist group eliminated after committing a massacre in the town of Kozarska Dubica last autumn. (Politika Ekspres, July 26, 1996) [09] SERIOUS SYMPTOMSSince NATO planes bombed the Republic of Srpska, the Ineffective Department of the St. Luke General Hospital in Doboj has treated more patients than in the past 35 years - said department head Dr. Branko Dabovic in an interview for the Doboj daily "Svitanje"."The patients show drastic signs of exposure to radiation affecting nerves, causing inflammation, pains and rash; in case that the illness is not treated promptly encephalitis and brain damage occurs", said Dr. Dabovic adding that "no one is spared from it". The only difference is that some individuals have weaker organism allowing the disease to spread faster than in those that have a stronger defense system" he explained. Dr. Dabovic advised the people of Doboj to be careful about what they eat and drink, because NATO air-raids contaminated both plants and livestock. The same specialist in infectious diseases from Doboj confirmed the information about the drastic increase of herpes zoster cases, due to the weakening of the defense mechanism in the human body.
