NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The representative of Republika Srpska (RS) in the Dayton B-H Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik, pointed out at a need of quick finding solution to the problems in the RS bordering villages, recently occupied by the Muslims, during his meeting with IFOR commander admiral Lopez. While referring to information about alleged destruction of residential buildings on the Serb side of the inter-entity boundary line, Krajisnik stated after the meeting that there is no sufficient evidence to confirm that, "but if it appears to be true, then it would be a probable consequence of unresolved problems in the Serb villages of Mahala, Jusici, Dugo Do...". While thanking president Krajisnik for reception, admiral Lopez said the purpose of his visit was to ask RS authorities for support in a process bringing destruction of buildings throughout the Dayton B-H to an halt.

SARAJEVO - The president of the RS National Assembly Dragan Kalinic, stated in Pale that the "RS orientation is the building of a democratic and free society, an open market and free private initiative." "We expressed our wish that the foreign investment reaches the RS in order to have as expedite as possible healing of severe war aftermaths", stated Kalinic after his meeting with high representative Carl Bildt.

SARAJEVO - The Russian defence secretary, Jury Baturin, who is in an inspection of the Russian Battalion in Eastern Slavonia and Dayton B-H, visited Pale, where was received by the RS foreign minister Aleksa Buha and president of the RS National Assembly Dragan Kalinic.

BANJALUKA - At the first regular session of the Association of Families of Missing and Imprisoned Serb Soldiers and Civilians in RS, held in Banjaluka, Association members decided to keep on insisting at the searching for missing soldiers and civilians, pointing out that the RS National Assembly and Government should take an unique position regarding the POW release.

SARAJEVO - The IPTF found body of killed Serb woman Stana Luledzija (1922) in her apartment in Vrelo Bosne in Ilidza, learns SRNA from reliable sources. She was seen the last time on Wednesday afternoon, and her missing was reported to IPTF by a small number of Serbs who remained in this part of Sarajevo after it went under Muslim control.

NIKSIC - Vice-president of the RS Government, Velibor Ostojic, stated at a meeting of the Serbian Democratic Party for Serbian Lands (SDS SZ) held in Niksic that "The SDS is an integrative party which comes to Monte Negro wishing to see the

Serbdom and 'Montenegrodom' united". Ostojic said that "the RS leadership persisted in all ordeals for the sake of peace and well-being of people in Serbia and Monte Negro, but now the SDS comes to help the unification of all the Serbs into an unitary state."

SARAJEVO - The SDS SZ supports the Draft Agreement offered to the Republic of Croatia by representatives of the Serb District of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srem, and considers this proposal as a minimum protection of Serb rights in this District. The SDS SZ warns that "freedom and equality is a condition for long-term stabilisation of relations in the region, as well as for the survival of the Serbs in the District of Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srem."

PRISTINA - The Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs inspector, Milos Nikolic, and the Centre for Labour Market worker, Dragan Rakic, are the victims of a terrorist action which took place last night in the village of Surkis in the municipality of Podujevo. As SRNA learns, the terrorists awaited in an ambush near Nikolic's house, when they killed Nikolic and Rakic at about 21:30 hrs.
