MARCH 22 1997 EVENING

NEWS REVIEW, REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

SARAJEVO - The president of Republika Srpska /RS/ Biljana Plavsic talked in Pale with the High Representative of the international community in B&H Carl Bildt about the functioning of the Serbian and International police in the region of Brcko. After the meeting Ms. Plavsic stated that before the Ministry of internal Affairs of RS and IPTF are placed high objectives, which could be reached with great professional and material assistance. "I wish that the police forces act in the best possible way, because we have decided to stop criminal acts in RS", accentuated the president Plavsic.

SARAJEVO - RS will support the work of the International Commission on Missing Persons, which must act on the highprofessional level, so the destiny of missing persons wouldnot be used for the political purposes, stressed in Zagreb the president of the National Assembly of RS Dragan Kalinic. While participating in the work meeting of this Commission, presided by the former U.S. State Secretary Cyrus Vance, Kalinic particularly stressed that it is necessary to avoid the politization of the problems of missing persons and to leave the practice of trading and blackmailing by dead bodies.

SARAJEVO - On the basis of the Agreement on special parallel relations between RS and FR Yugoslavia /FRY/, the Governments of RS and Serbia will sign more concrete contracts on business and other cooperation in the field of economy in Belgrade on Tuesday March 25. As said at the session of RS Government in Pale, beside other things, it is expected that the contract on delivery of the first 25,000 tones of crude oil for the needs of the oil industry in RS will be signed .

SARAJEVO - The Acting president of the Serbian Democratic Party of Serbian states /SDS SZ/ Aleksa Buha stated that at the session of the Main Board of the Party were cleared the misunderstandings which appeared in the public on the occasion of signing the Agreement on special parallel relations between RS and FRY. "With the pleasure is concluded that there are no changes in the heads of the people who are leading the strategic objectives and policy of SDS and RS" - highlighted Mr. Buha. According to him, discord and misunderstandings between the state and party leaders was the result of the insufficient mutual informing and harmonising the stances.
