[03] Cyprus Church - Cyprus talks

Nicosia, Sep 18 (CNA) - The Cyprus Church today expressed concern over developments in the Cyprus problem, noting that a statement issued by UN Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, on September 12, first day of the fourth round of proximity talks on the Cyprus problem "not only does not restore human rights, but is in complete opposition to international law and UN resolutions".

The Holy Synod noted today that Annan's statement "instead of trying the Turkish invasion and occupation, suggests the legalisation" of its consequences.
