Washington, Oct 11 (CNA) -- The US has welcomed a decision by Cyprus,
Greece and Turkey to cancel their respective military manoeuvres they
had planned for the coming months, saying this would contribute towards
a political settlement in Cyprus and regional stability.

Nicosia, Oct 11 (CNA) -- The decision by Cyprus and Greece to cancel
their annual military exercises was taken in full coordination between
the two governments, Greek Government Spokesman Christos Protopapas
said here today, fending off criticism that Athens had acted ahead of
Nicosia.
