Papadopoulos says Greece to support Cyprus in difficult times

Larnaca, Mar 14 (CNA) - Cypriot President Tassos Papadopoulos reaffirmed the Greek Cypriot side's steadfast pursuit of a Cyprus settlement by May 1st, through substantive negotiations, that would guarantee the functionality and viability of the state, noting that Greece will support the Greek Cypriot side during the difficult times ahead.

President Papadopoulos said Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash remained steadfast in his intransigence and concrete opposition to the solution plan proposed by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, adding that it was interesting to note that no one was commenting on the Turkish Cypriot side's stance, while the Greek Cypriot side's statements were put under the microscope to find some alteration that would lead to arbitrary conclusions.
