[01] CYPRUS FM - SERBIA
Cyprus Foreign Minister Marcos Kyprianou wrapped up Wednesday an
official visit to Serbia, during which he gave a message of solidarity
and support to the new Government of Serbia.
A Cyprus Foreign Ministry official told CNA that during Kyprianous
contacts the position of principle of the Republic of Cyprus on the
issue of Kosovo was reaffirmed and Kyprianou underlined Cyprus support
to Serbias European integration. He also briefed his interlocutors on
the latest developments in the Cyprus question.
Serbian officials reiterated Serbias position of principle on the
Cyprus question. Both sides also expressed their political will to
promote their bilateral cooperation.
[02] CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - ANORTHOSIS - QUALIFICATION
Cypriot Anorthosis FC of Famagusta beat with 2-0 Armenia`s FC Pyunik,
in a match held in Yerevan and qualified to the Champions League`s
second qualifying round.
Êlimenti Tsitaisvili opened the score in the 29th minute, and
substitute Nikos Frousos scored in the 86th minute Anorthosis second
goal.
Anorthosis FC beat with 1-0 Armenia`s FC Pyunik, in a match held in
Nicosia`s GSP stadium last week. The Cypriot team will play against
Rapid Wien for the Champions League`s second qualifying round.
Anorthosis is a refugee club from Famagusta a coastal city occupied
since the 1974 Turkish invasion which resulted to the occupation of
Cyprus` northern third.
