  • [01] Ministry receives more than five thousand applications for job placement scheme

    More than five thousand unemployed had applied until mid-September for the subsidised employment scheme under flexible work arrangements, of the Labour Ministry.

    According to data compiled by the Ministry, more than 650 organisations and companies have applied for participation in the scheme providing more than 985 job positions.

    So far, 70 employments have been approved, whereas 820 positions are to be conjugated and approved.

    [02] President Anastasiades sents message of condolences to US

    President of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Anastasiades has sent a message of condolences to US President Barack Obama over the tragedy at the Navy Yard in Washington.

    He notes that he was notified with great shock and sorrow of the shooting attack that cost the lives of 12 people and wounded many others.

    President Anastasiades expresses the deepest sympathy of the government and people of Cyprus, and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wishes for a speedy recovery to those injured.
