According to KIBRIS (3/11/98), Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash has stated that with the commencement of the accession talks between Cyprus and the EU on November 10, ``the Turkish Cypriot stance on November 10 will not be the same as on November 9''. He said measures will be taken that will be announced on November 10.

He added he will have a meeting with Ann Hereus, the UN Secretary General´s deputy special representative in Cyprus, tomorrow Wednesday, at 10 a.m.

[02] Yilmaz pledges Turkey´s constant support

In an interview to Turkish Cypriot daily KIBRIS (3/11/98), Turkish Prime Minster Mesut Yilmaz said that Turkey´s constant support to the pseudostate will be continued in all fields, specifically as regards higher education, communications, the water problem and power supply.

[03] Denktash to vote only women candidates at ``elections''.

According to YENI DEMOKRAT (3/11/98), Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash has said that at the forthcoming December 6 so-called elections he will give his vote only to women candidates. ``As I perceive it, due to the intransigence of men, women have avoided getting involved in dirty politics so far'', he said.

[04] Turkish Cypriot farmers to receive economic aid

According to KIBRIS (3/11/98), the so-called prime minister of the pseudostate, Dervis Eroglu, has declared that farmers, who have been affected by the drought, will be given economic aid amounting to 3 billion Turkish Lira.

Eroglu announced this after his meeting yesterday with Rauf Denktash. Speaking to reporters, he said that Turkish Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz personally assured him last Friday in Ankara that this aid will be realized.
