[01] Santer to answer mad cow charges
BRUSSELS - European Commission President Jacques Santer will answer any
criticism made of the Commission in the European Parliament's final report on
mad cow disease, spokesman Nikolaus van der Pas said on Wednesday.

statement that no new country was likely to join the European Union before
