Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis arrived in Strasbourg on Wednesday for the annual Council of Europe ministerial meeting, to be attended by more than 30 foreign ministers or deputy ministers for European affairs, of the Council of Europe member countries.

Bakoyannis was due to meet on Wednesday afternoon with her Turkish counterpart Ali Babacan, on the sidelines of the annual conference.

The first item on the ministerial conference's agenda is the Council of Europe's role in ensuring common security and stability, with the focus on Southeastern Europe.

The ministers will also discuss relations between the Council of Europe and the European Union, the intercultural dialogue, and human rights.

The Balkans and SE Europe are also on the agenda for discussion during the foreign ministers' luncheon.
