BRUSSELS (AMNA - M. Aroni) - Prime Minister Lucas Papademos, speaking after the conclusion of the European Union summit in Brussels, said the summit's decisions constitute a "considerable step towards handling crises in the future and dealing with the current crisis".

Papademos further said that the first category of the decisions has a medium and longterm character and concerns the strengthening of economic governance.

The prime minister added that the second category concerns the handling of the crisis, meaning that it focuses on issues aiming at the improvement of the functioning of the fiscal stability mechanisms and the strengthening of their resources.
