    US President Barack Obama on Wednesday will visit the Acropolis.

    Then he will deliver a speech at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre.

    He will depart for Berlin later in the day.

    [02] Xinhua films Greek monuments with drones and VR cameras

    Xinhua news agency in cooperation with the Greek Culture Ministry launched a programme in November to film the unique cultural treaures of Greece with Virtual Reality-VR cameras and small drones giving the opportunity to people all over the world to admire them.

    Vassiliki Eleftheriou, head of the Department of Restoration of the Acropolis Monuments, spoke to Xinhua on the challenges involved in this effort, which is a national priority for Greece despite the current economic difficulties.

    [03] 32nd Philoxenia to open on Friday with the participation of 621 exhibitors

    The 32nd Philoxenia will begin on Friday with the participation of 621 exhibitors, 383 visitors and more than 5,000 scheduled meetings.

    "Northern Greece is an important crossroads of culture, history, religion, and art, Deputy Interior Minister Maria Kollia-Tsaroucha said. "The combination of tourism opportunities created can constitute packages that will attract visitors throughout the year," she said and added: "This year's Philoxenia is an excellent opportunity to move forward, to the establishment of this new culture, which will enable us to conquer and consolidate a leading position in the field of international tourism."

    The exhibition will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura.
