Government spokesman , Hristos Protopappas, said the poll, surveying voter s preferences for the parliamentary elections , just 15 days prior to local government elections – and carried out by a company linked with that which has undertaken the party s election campaign- was a clear indication that N.D was in a state of total confusion and panic because of its erroneous choice of candidates.

In response , ND party spokesman , Theodoros Roussopoulos said the government was upset because the opinion poll- like all the others conducted in the past two years – was not favourable to the ruling Pasok party.
