Ending the PASOK Political Council meeting, Mr Papandreou described the PM an arsonist of political normality and the representative of the worst traditions of the Right wing. He also described the governments profile pathetic.

Mr Papandreou reported that the PM is in a deadlock, surrounded by scandals and corruption. Instead of swearing against PASOK, Mr Karamanlis should speak about the high cost of living, public hospitals, the problems low-pensioners are facing, the combating of bureaucracy and problems with transparency.

He also accused the prime minister of not referring to the secret money of Siemens, the control of Justice, the new revelations on OSE and the undermining of the Independent Authority.

Finally, he stressed that PASOK cadres should help in the partys revival as of autumn.

    Roussopoulos' Answer

In reply to Mr Papandreou, Government spokesman Theodoros Roussopoulos stated that once more Mr Papandreou had failed to exit from his deadlocks by swearing against all.
