The National Meteorological Service has forecast deterioration of weather as of Monday with rains, storms mainly in coastal regions and snow on high ground in central Greece and on low ground in west and central Macedonia. Temperatures will slightly drop on Theofania Day. Locally cloudy in Epirus and east Macedonia. Cloudy and rainy with local storms in most parts of the country. Snow chains are necessary in most parts of northern Greece road network.

Heavy snowfall has already created problems in road network from Lamia to Domokos, Karpenissi and Amfissa while prefecture services are making hard efforts to clean roads from snow to facilitate motorists. Alexandropolis sea services to the island of Samothraki have been suspended and ferries are only setting off from the Kavala port.
