    [04] Hospital Doctors‚ Strike Continues

    Politics

Due to the Hospital Doctors' strike, hospitals will be operating today on skeleton staff. Due to the rallies, no on-calls will take place at the Nikaia General Hospital and at the hospitals which remain open all the hours in Thessaloniki, Patra, Ioannina and Heraklion, Crete. Doctors will hold a General Assembly on Monday to decide about the future of their rallies.

EKAV (National Centre for Emergency Medical Care) doctors have announced that as of Friday they will have only two on-calls per month.

In an interview with NET, Health Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos stressed that the bill includes what was agreed in December. At the same time, the Health Ministry's bill was discussed in tension on Wednesday.

The improvements in salaries will be slightly lower than those of the collective agreement signed in December. This has caused the reaction of the doctors, who demand the content of the collective agreement to be ratified.
