A memorial service was held at St. Dionisios Church, in Kolonaki, on Sunday to mark the 35th anniversary of Turkish invasion of Cyprus. The memorial service in memory of those who fell on that black anniversary was attended by representatives of Cypriot and Greek political parties who laid wreaths at the Unknown Soldier Monument after the memorial service. An interparty Greek parliament delegation has flown to Cyprus to attend events.

    Karamanlis Message

In his message Prime-minister Kostas Karamanlis stresses that solution to the Cyprus question will be found through UN resolutions and EU principles and values. He specifically stresses: The anniversary of Turkish invasion of Cyprus is a day of memory and honor and a day that reconfirms the firm dedication of Hellenism for a permanent, just and viable solution to the Cyprus issue. We are fighting and will be fighting till final justification.
