  • [01] Ceiling on Fuel Prices Takes Effect

    Wednesday, 24 March 2010 14:20

A ceiling on fuel prices took effect Wednesday in eight prefectures in Greece. The ceiling will expire on 11 April. The goal is to withhold fuel prices, which had gone out of control in several regions throughout Greece, including Crete, where unleaded fuel was sold above 1.60 euros per litre.

Consumers in Crete welcomed the ceiling on the fuel prices. Petrol station owners, on the other hand, expressed their objections, calling on the government to impose a ceiling in refineries, as well. News item: 34714
