    Showers are forecast in all parts of the country with temperatures remaining the same. Winds east-northeasterly, moderate. Temperatures in Athens will range between 11-16 C; and in Thessaloniki from 8-12 C.

    [02] PM Simitis discusses new management and governance

    A public dialogue concerning the country's new system of management and governance will begin following according to Prime Minister Costas Simitis today after an in-depth meeting at Pasok's headquarters.

    Also discussed during the meeting were the country's regional reorganization and issues concerning local administration.

    The PM clarified the related decisions will be made on these topics immediately after the parliamentary elections and added that the cycle would pave the way for a new Pasok conference that will be followed by a public dialogue to be participated by political parties and local administration representatives.

    [03] Executive Bureau to discuss new electoral law

    The new electoral law being promoted by the Interior Ministry will be the main topic of this evening's meeting of Pasok's Executive Bureau, while tomorrow it will be submitted for approval to the Ministerial Council. The government's proposal foresees fewer, larger and stronger regions as well as the segmentation of Athens district B.

    Alternate Foreign Minister, Tasos Giannitsis met the Foreign Minister of Cyprus today with whom he discussed the Cyprus issue, harmonization of Cypriot legislation with EU legislation and the upcoming official visit of Cypriot President, Tasos Papadopoulos to Athens on November 25th.

    [07] Greece. The letter delivered by the Metropolites of Sparta and Xanthi affirms a recent decision by

    [08] Greece's Holy Synod, the governing council of the Greek church, that it has ultimate authority over the appointments. The exact contents of the letter, however, were not released. The two Metropolites return to Athens tomorrow and will brief the Holy Synod about their trip to Fanari.

    [09] Olympic Village in final stages of completion

    The creation of the biggest Olympics project&#8212;the Olympic Village in Thrakomakodones-is in its final stages of preparation with the construction of the homes set to be completed by the end of the month. During the 2004 games, the Olympic Village will be home to 17,500 athletes and their chaperones, while after the games, the Village will be home to 2,292 families who are members of the Organization of Labor Residences-ERGATIKH KATOIKIA.

    [10] Bush wants Iraqis to assume more responsibility

    U.S. President George W. Bush said today he wanted Iraqis to assume more responsibility, a day after a suicide bomb killed 18 Italians and dealt another blow to U.S.-led occupation forces. Bush said the United States was in a "struggle" with Iraqi guerrillas for the support of ordinary Iraqis. On the ground, the U.S. military said it would intensify a crackdown against anti-American fighters.

    [11] Afghan Taliban says leader's voice on tape

    A recorded voice purportedly of Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar admonished guerrillas who have abandoned a "Jihad" against foreign troops and urged renewed resistance, two years after American invaders drove him from power. If authentic, it would be the most recent evidence that the elusive supreme leader, one of America's most wanted men, is alive despite a two-year manhunt across Afghanistan's mountains and deserts involving 11,500 soldiers, helicopters and jets.

    Israel and the Palestinians, building on the formation of a new Palestinian government, said today they were ready for talks between their leaders on reviving a U.S.-backed peace plan stalled by violence.
